Elevate Your Next Brunch With These Tasty Wine Pairings

It's that time of year!

Spring is in full swing, so you know what that means . . . that’s right - Brunch! We hope you had a chance to try the Frittata and Chardonnay pairing in our article. The response was so enthusiastic, we had to follow up with some additional ideas for your next big Brunch.

One of the beautiful things about Brunch is the range of sweet to savory dishes that you can serve, but that also makes it difficult to get just the right wine pairing.

If you are looking for a crowd-pleasing batched cocktail that will free you up to entertain, then you are in luck. We just released our latest Wine Spritzer creation. It’s a crisp, fresh, and floral recipe with Sauvignon Blanc as the base that is the perfect complement to pancakes with berries or french toast. See below for the recipe courtesy of @garnish_girl.

If seafood such as a smoked salmon omelet or crab cakes is on the menu, then you should highly consider pouring a chilled Sauvignon Blanc. The vibrant citrus notes in this refreshing wine will really brighten the flavor of your seafood dishes.

Now if you are desiring a versatile red, then look no further than our Pinot Noir. This is an expressive wine with remarkable touches of fresh strawberries and raspberries that can make its way around the Brunch buffet like no other. Here are a couple of specific pairings we highly recommend with our Pinot Noir: a savory scone (think cheddar and scallions) or buckwheat crepes (possibly filled with ricotta and sauteed greens).

Don't forget the bacon!

At this point, you might be wondering if we had forgotten about the king of breakfast meats! We wouldn’t do that to you, so here’s the lowdown on a foolproof method to get perfectly crispy bacon. This simple technique works great whether you are preparing a few strips or a large amount for a feast. Simply line rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper, arrange the bacon on top, and bake at 400°F until it is crisped to your liking (18+ minutes depending on the thickness). And while the bacon is getting crisp in the oven, go ahead and uncork a bottle of our legendary Cabernet Sauvignon and you will see that this celebrated varietal is not just a great match for a steak but also goes perfect with bacon (and eggs).

You can’t go wrong with any of these great food and wine pairings, so pick your favorite and enjoy!

Not Your Mother’s White Wine Spritzer:

  • 1 bottle Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc (750 ml)
  • ¾ cup elderflower liqueur
  • ¾ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 750 ml soda water (about 3 cups)
  • Several sprigs of fresh herbs such as rosemary, mint, and thyme
  • Lemon slices
  • Combine everything in a pitcher with ice and stir briefly. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and fresh herbs.
