How Do You Rosé?

Rosé makes us feel a certain way. Many of you know exactly what we mean and some of you may be thinking . . . . please share more details. Picture a sunny afternoon with no to-do list in sight, but you are surrounded by good company. That’s when we reach for a chilled bottle of Rosé . . . . a tasty Chilean version . . . . you know, made by the kind people at Casillero del Diablo.

Honestly, this is not only one of the best values on the market, but one of the best Rosé wines available today. With its intense strawberry color and bright purple hints, the Casillero del Diablo Rosé is a beauty. After your eyes have drawn you into the wine, your nose will alert you to fresh, delicate notes of blackberries, raspberries, and cherries. Finally, your palate will be rewarded with fruity notes of plums and strawberries along with impressive freshness and acidity from start to finish.

You may want to pair a bottle or two of this easy-drinking (dare we say “quaffable”?) wine with just your loved ones, but in case anyone is in the mood for a snack, we have some suggested accompaniments. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Soft cheeses such as Port Salut, Havarti, or Brie
  • Smoked salmon
  • Roasted red peppers
  • Strawberries
  • Summer vegetable salad
  • Chicken salad

Put together a nice board or fresh salad, add some fresh baguette or crackers, and let the deliciousness begin. If this all sounds like a feat, then remember this sumptuous wine does fine all on its own! This approachable wine varietal will add a refreshing touch to your relaxing afternoon. So, whether you are already in the Rosé club or looking to try something new, we highly recommend uncorking a bottle. Enjoy that sunshine and promise to do nothing, but give your attention to your company and, of course, that glass of chilled Rosé in your hand. Cheers!
